SI70RE05 Datasheet

SI70RE05 is a 70 shore A red silicone (VMQ) compound that is peroxide cured and externally coated with silicone oil to reduce surface friction during installation and operation. This material is ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in applications where easier assembly, reduced sticking, and smoother motion are important, particularly in automated equipment and dynamic sealing environments. It offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, while maintaining reliable performance across a service temperature range of -60°C to 205°C. SI70RE05 meets ASTM D2000 M7GE705 requirements and provides a practical solution for applications requiring both environmental resistance and low friction surfaces.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its excellent temperature flexibility and resistance to environmental degradation. These materials maintain elasticity across a wide temperature range, making them suitable for applications involving thermal cycling and outdoor exposure. Silicone compounds are commonly used in industrial, food processing, and general sealing applications where ozone resistance and long service life are required. Variants with external lubrication, such as silicone oil coatings, are especially useful in reducing installation damage and improving performance in low friction sealing applications.
