SI70TR20 Datasheet
SI70TR20, SIL, Translucent, ULT, 70A
SI70TR20 is a 70 shore A translucent PVMQ silicone compound engineered for ultra low temperature sealing where standard elastomers become brittle. This material maintains excellent flexibility down to -115°C while still providing reliable performance up to 205°C, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace, cryogenic, and extreme cold industrial applications. It offers good resistance to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, supporting long-term durability in harsh environments. SI70TR20 meets ASTM D2000 M7GE705 requirements and is well suited for applications requiring both extreme cold performance and environmental resistance.
PVMQ, or fluorosilicone rubber, is a specialized form of silicone that combines the low temperature flexibility of VMQ with improved resistance to fuels, oils, and certain solvents. These materials are widely used in O-rings and gaskets where both chemical exposure and extreme temperature conditions are present. Compared to standard silicone, PVMQ offers better fuel and oil resistance while maintaining excellent low temperature properties, making it a preferred choice for aerospace, automotive, and industrial sealing applications. While highly versatile, it may not match FKM in high temperature chemical resistance, so proper material selection is essential.
