Parker, V0894-90 FKM, 90A, Brown, General Purpose

Parker V0894-90 is a 90 shore A brown FKM compound designed for general purpose sealing in high temperature and chemically aggressive environments. This material meets ASTM D2000 3HK920 requirements and provides excellent resistance to petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, along with compatibility with aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Its high durometer improves extrusion resistance, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in high pressure systems, while also delivering strong performance in high vacuum environments. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -15°F to 400°F, V0894-90 offers reliable resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging and can be compared to other high hardness FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent materials.

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Higher durometer FKM materials like 90A are often selected for applications requiring improved extrusion resistance and mechanical strength under load. These materials are commonly used in automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications where durability and chemical compatibility are critical. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing performance.
