VG109-90 Datasheet
Parker, VG109-90 FKM, 90A, Black, ISO 23936 RGD & Extrusion Resistant, Low Compression Set
Parker’s VG109-90 is a 90 Shore A black fluorocarbon (FKM) compound engineered for high-strength sealing applications requiring excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and aggressive chemicals. With a service temperature range of -50°F to 400°F, VG109-90 maintains flexibility and sealing integrity across wide thermal fluctuations. It exhibits outstanding compatibility with mineral oils, greases, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, silicone oils, nonflammable hydraulic fluids, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. This compound also provides superior resistance to ozone, weathering, and oxidation, making it ideal for harsh industrial and high-vacuum environments.
Tested to ISO 23936-2 standards for rapid gas decompression (RGD), VG109-90 is well-suited for oil and gas service where pressure cycling is a concern. It achieves a tensile strength of 2,348 psi and an elongation of 115%, delivering both durability and resilience under demanding conditions. However, it is not recommended for glycol-based brake fluids, amines, alkalis, superheated steam, or low molecular weight organic acids. Canyon Components offers equivalent FKM materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker VG109-90 for oil and gas, aerospace, and high-pressure sealing applications.
