VT95BK11 Datasheet
VT95BK11, FKM, A, BLACK, 95A
VT95BK11 is a 95 shore A black FKM Type A compound engineered for extreme sealing environments where high hardness and resistance to explosive decompression are critical. This material is tested to NORSOK M-710, API 6A, and ISO 23936-2, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in oil and gas applications such as wellheads, valves, and high pressure equipment exposed to sour gas. Its very high durometer provides excellent extrusion resistance under heavy loads, while maintaining strong chemical resistance and durability against weathering and aging. With a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C, VT95BK11 can be compared to Parker V1238-95 when evaluating equivalent high hardness AED-resistant FKM materials.
FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and aggressive chemicals is essential. High durometer FKM compounds like 95A are specifically selected for applications requiring maximum extrusion resistance and structural integrity under high pressure conditions. AED-resistant formulations are designed to withstand rapid gas decompression without cracking, making them essential in oil and gas and other high pressure industries. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical for long-term sealing performance.
