Parker’s B0318-70 is a 70 Shore A black Butyl (IIR) compound designed for sealing applications that require excellent resistance to polar fluids, steam, and environmental exposure. With a service temperature range of -75°F to 250°F, it maintains flexibility at very low temperatures while performing reliably in hot water and steam environments up to 250°F. This compound is well suited for use with salt solutions, glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3 and DOT 4), poly-glycol hydraulic fluids (HFC), phosphate-ester fluids (HFD-R), and a wide range of organic acids and polar solvents such as alcohols, ketones, and esters. Its inherent resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long service life in both indoor and outdoor sealing applications.

B0318-70 meets ASTM D2000 M4AA708 requirements and carries AMS 3238 approval, making it appropriate for aerospace, industrial, and fluid-handling systems where permeability control and environmental resistance are critical. It is not recommended for use with mineral oils, greases, fuels, or chlorinated hydrocarbons. Canyon Components offers equivalent Butyl (IIR) materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker B0318-70 for low-temperature, steam, and brake fluid sealing applications.
