The Parker B0318-70 Butyl (IIR) compound is a 70 durometer black elastomer designed for O-rings and gaskets requiring excellent resistance to polar fluids, steam, and chemical exposure. With a broad operating range from -75°F to 250°F, it performs reliably in systems utilizing glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and polar solvents such as alcohols, ketones, and esters. The compound also provides outstanding resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering, making it well-suited for both indoor and outdoor sealing environments. Its low gas permeability and stability under hot water and steam exposure enhance long-term sealing integrity.

B0318-70 meets ASTM D2000 M4AA708 and AMS 3238 specifications, ensuring consistency and quality for aerospace, hydraulic, and industrial applications. However, it is not compatible with mineral oils, fuels, or chlorinated hydrocarbons. This versatile Butyl formulation offers dependable performance in demanding environments where resistance to oxygenated fluids and environmental degradation is critical.
