The Parker CL172-70 Neoprene (Chloroprene, CR) compound is a 70 durometer black elastomer designed for versatile O-ring and gasket sealing applications. Internally lubricated to simplify installation and reduce frictional wear, it maintains dependable sealing performance in temperatures ranging from -35°F to 225°F. This compound demonstrates excellent resistance to paraffin-based oils, silicone lubricants, water, ammonia, and common refrigerants, along with superior ozone and weathering durability.

It is well-suited for use in HVAC, refrigeration, and general industrial environments where exposure to harsh outdoor or oil-based conditions is expected. The CL172-70 formulation provides a balanced blend of oil resistance, flexibility, and aging stability for both static and dynamic seals. However, it should not be used with aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or polar fluids such as ketones and esters.
