Parker’s E0740-75 is a 75 Shore A black EPDM compound engineered for sealing applications that demand excellent resistance to heat, water, steam, and polar fluids. With a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F, it maintains flexibility at low temperatures while delivering reliable performance in hot water and steam service, including intermittent exposure up to 400°F. This compound is well suited for use with glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3 and DOT 4), silicone brake fluids (DOT 5), many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, and sodium and potassium alkalis. Its inherent resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging supports long service life in both indoor and outdoor environments.
E0740-75 meets ASTM D2000 M3DA710 requirements and carries USP Class VI and USP <87> approvals, making it appropriate for medical, pharmaceutical, and high-purity fluid handling applications. It is not recommended for use with mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. This EPDM formulation provides a dependable solution for applications requiring broad compatibility with water-based and polar media. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker E0740-75 for steam, brake fluid, and chemical sealing applications.
