Parker’s E1022-70 is a 70 Shore A black EPDM compound designed as a general-purpose, internally lubricated material for brake and fluid-handling sealing applications. With a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F, it maintains flexibility at low temperatures while providing reliable performance in hot water and steam environments. The internally lubricated formulation helps reduce installation friction and minimizes the risk of seal damage during assembly. E1022-70 offers excellent resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, supporting long service life in demanding operating conditions.

E1022-70 is recommended for use with glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils and greases, many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, alkalis, and a wide range of polar solvents. It is not recommended for contact with mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. This EPDM formulation is commonly used in braking systems, industrial equipment, and fluid-processing applications where water-based and polar media are present. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker E1022-70 for brake, steam, and chemical sealing applications.
