Parker’s E1561-60 is a 60 Shore A black EPDM compound engineered for potable water, sanitary, and regulatory-driven sealing applications that require flexibility, chemical resistance, and long-term durability. Qualified to ASTM D2000 M3DA614, it meets NSF 61, KTW, and WRAS requirements, making it suitable for drinking water and hygienic systems. With a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F, E1561-60 maintains elasticity in cold conditions while providing reliable performance in hot water and steam environments. Its softer durometer allows effective sealing at lower clamp loads while maintaining good compression set resistance.

E1561-60 performs well with glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils and greases, many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, sodium and potassium alkalis, and a wide range of polar solvents. It also offers excellent resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering, supporting long service life in exposed environments. This compound is not recommended for mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials designed to meet similar NSF 61, KTW, and WRAS potable water sealing requirements.
