Parker’s FF582-90 is a 90 Shore A black perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) compound engineered for high-strength sealing in chemically aggressive and elevated-temperature environments. With a recommended service temperature range of 5°F to 525°F, it delivers stable sealing performance in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, polar solvents such as acetone, MEK, and dioxane, as well as a wide range of inorganic and organic acids. This compound also performs reliably in hot water and steam service, petroleum oils, and wet or dry chlorine exposure, while maintaining minimal weight loss in high-vacuum applications. Its higher durometer provides improved extrusion resistance and dimensional stability under pressure and thermal cycling.

 

FF582-90 is commonly used in O-rings, gaskets, and custom seals for chemical processing equipment, vacuum systems, and other severe service industrial applications where both chemical resistance and mechanical robustness are required. It is not recommended for fluorinated refrigerants, uranium hexafluoride, molten metals, or gaseous and alkali metals. This high-durometer FFKM formulation supports long service life in demanding environments where lower-hardness elastomers may extrude or lose sealing integrity.
