Parker’s KA157-70 is a 70 Shore A black HNBR compound engineered for sealing applications that require improved thermal stability and chemical resistance compared to standard NBR materials. Tested to ASTM D2000 M3DH710, it demonstrates non-brittle performance after exposure to low temperatures and operates reliably across a service temperature range of approximately -25°F to 300°F, with short-term capability up to 325°F. This compound provides strong resistance to petroleum-based and synthetic hydrocarbon oils and greases, weathering, ozone, cold and hot water, alcohols, glycols, and R-134a refrigerant. The hydrogenated nitrile formulation supports low compression set and long-term durability in both static and moderate dynamic sealing environments.

KA157-70 is commonly used in automotive, industrial, and fluid handling systems where resistance to oils, temperature cycling, and environmental exposure is required. It is not recommended for automotive brake fluids, commercial aircraft hydraulic fluids, concentrated strong acids, polar solvents such as MEK and acetone, or chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents. This HNBR compound offers a balanced combination of flexibility, heat resistance, and chemical compatibility for demanding service conditions. Canyon Components offers equivalent HNBR materials designed to match the performance characteristics of Parker KA157-70 for oil, temperature, and weather-resistant sealing applications.
