DuPont™ Kalrez® 3018 (KP3018) is a high-hardness, 90 Shore A black perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) developed for sealing applications exposed to aggressive amines, strong bases, and high-temperature steam. It is commonly used in chemical processing and oil and gas environments where excellent steam resistance, strong base compatibility, and mechanical robustness are required. Kalrez® 3018 offers an upper continuous service temperature of approximately 288°C (550°F) and provides reliable compression set resistance and extrusion resistance in demanding static sealing applications. Its chemical durability makes it suitable for harsh process streams that quickly degrade standard elastomers.
Kalrez® 3018 has historically been used in O-rings and gaskets for valves, pumps, reactors, and steam handling systems operating in highly alkaline or amine-rich environments. As this legacy grade is being phased out, DuPont has positioned Kalrez® Spectrum™ 7390 as a suitable replacement with improved overall chemical resistance, enhanced compression set performance, and a higher maximum service temperature.
