DuPont™ Kalrez® Spectrum™ 6380 (KP6380) is an 80 Shore A cream or white perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) specifically engineered for sealing applications involving hot, aggressive amines and other chemically challenging process streams. Unlike carbon black filled grades, this non-black formulation offers excellent chemical resistance while allowing easy visual identification in chemical plant environments. Kalrez® 6380 provides reliable mechanical performance in both static and dynamic sealing applications, with good tensile strength, elongation, and compression set behavior at elevated temperatures. It has a recommended continuous service temperature up to 225°C (437°F), with short-term excursions to higher temperatures permissible depending on application conditions.
Kalrez® Spectrum™ 6380 is commonly used in O-rings, gaskets, and custom seals for chemical processing equipment exposed to amines, mixed chemical streams, and aggressive solvents where many elastomers fail prematurely. Its balanced combination of amine resistance, chemical durability, and mechanical stability makes it a preferred choice for pumps, valves, reactors, and transfer systems in harsh chemical service. This material is often selected when strong amine compatibility is the primary driver and black-filled FFKM compounds are undesirable.
