Parker’s L1120-70 is a 70 Shore A blue fluorosilicone (FVMQ) compound manufactured to AMS-R-25988 Type I, Class I, Grade 70 and is UL listed for fuel-resistant sealing applications. It provides reliable performance across a wide service temperature range of approximately -100°F to 350°F, maintaining flexibility at very low temperatures while offering stability under dry heat. This material exhibits strong resistance to aromatic mineral oils, petroleum oils, jet fuels, low molecular weight aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and toluene, and chlorinated solvents. Its balanced mechanical properties make it suitable for both static and moderate dynamic sealing where fuel exposure and thermal cycling are present.

L1120-70 meets MIL-R-25988B Class I requirements and is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in aerospace fuel systems, industrial equipment, and applications exposed to hydrocarbons and solvents. It is not recommended for phosphate esters, acids, ketones, amines including ammonia, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids. This fluorosilicone grade is selected when low-temperature flexibility, fuel compatibility, and specification compliance are key design considerations. Canyon Components offers equivalent fluorosilicone materials engineered to match the fuel resistance, temperature capability, and regulatory profile of Parker L1120-70 for aerospace and industrial sealing applications.
