Parker’s N1059-90 is a 90 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound engineered for sealing applications that require high hardness, low compression set, and dependable performance at elevated temperatures. With a service temperature range of -30°F to 275°F, this material maintains dimensional stability and sealing force under sustained load, making it well suited for high-pressure static and moderate dynamic applications. The high-durometer formulation provides improved extrusion resistance compared to softer nitrile compounds while retaining good oil compatibility. Its low compression set characteristics support longer service life in demanding industrial environments.

N1059-90 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in pumps, valves, hydraulic equipment, and general machinery exposed to petroleum-based oils and moderate heat. As with standard NBR materials, it is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This compound is selected when stiffness, heat resistance, and compression set control are more critical than low-temperature flexibility. Canyon Components offers equivalent high-durometer NBR materials designed to match the temperature capability and low compression set performance of Parker N1059-90 for industrial sealing applications.
