Parker’s NB194-90 is a 90 Shore A black peroxide-cured nitrile rubber (NBR) compound engineered for high-pressure sealing applications where extrusion resistance and low compression set are critical. Developed specifically for demanding Energy, Oil, and Gas environments, this material offers improved high-temperature capability compared to conventional sulfur-cured nitriles while maintaining excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils and fluids. The peroxide-cured formulation delivers exceptional compression set resistance, helping seals retain load and geometry over extended service under heat and pressure. Its high durometer and enhanced mechanical strength make NB194-90 suitable for applications where back-up rings cannot be used or space constraints limit gland design.

 

NB194-90 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in high-pressure oilfield equipment, valves, pumps, and other pressure-containing assemblies where extrusion control is essential. It is particularly effective in applications exposed to elevated temperatures and aggressive pressure cycling that can cause standard nitrile materials to deform or extrude.
