Parker S0613-60 is a 60 shore A VMQ silicone compound in a rust color, formulated to meet ZZ-R-765 Class 2B Grade 60 and AMS 3303 specifications. This material provides excellent performance in O-rings and gaskets exposed to dry heat, low temperature environments, and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids such as HFD-R and HFD-S. It offers good resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, along with moderate compatibility with certain petroleum oils, making it suitable for aerospace and industrial sealing applications. Meeting ASTM D2000 M3GE603 requirements, S0613-60 can be compared to other military-grade silicone compounds when evaluating equivalent materials for extreme temperature and environmental conditions.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its exceptional temperature flexibility and resistance to environmental degradation. These materials perform well in both high and low temperature conditions, maintaining elasticity where many elastomers become brittle or degrade. Silicone compounds are commonly used in aerospace, medical, and industrial applications where ozone resistance, thermal stability, and long service life are required. While highly versatile, they are generally not recommended for strong acids, ketones, or certain fluid environments, making proper material selection important for optimal sealing performance.
