Parker S0614-80 is an 80 shore A rust-colored VMQ silicone compound qualified to AMS 3305 and A-A-59588 Class 2a and 2b Grade 80 specifications for high temperature aerospace and industrial sealing. This material performs well in O-rings and gaskets exposed to dry heat, low temperature conditions, and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids such as HFD-R and HFD-S. It provides good resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, along with moderate compatibility with certain petroleum oils and water exposure. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -65°F to 450°F, S0614-80 can be compared to other AMS-grade silicone materials when evaluating equivalent high performance sealing solutions.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its broad temperature range and excellent environmental resistance. Higher durometer silicone materials like 80A offer improved mechanical strength and resistance to deformation while maintaining flexibility across extreme temperatures. These materials are commonly used in aerospace, defense, and industrial applications where durability, thermal stability, and resistance to ozone and aging are critical. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for ketones, strong acids, or certain fluid environments, making proper material selection essential.
