Parker® SM355-75 is a rust colored VMQ silicone elastomer compound with a nominal hardness of 75 Shore A, developed to meet the qualification requirements of AMS 7267 for high reliability sealing applications. This silicone material is commonly used for O-rings, gaskets, and molded sealing components that require excellent temperature stability and long term environmental resistance. Parker SM355-75 is also manufactured to meet FDA and USP Class VI requirements, including USP <87>, making it suitable for regulated medical, pharmaceutical, and sanitary equipment applications.

With a broad operating temperature range of approximately -60°F to 450°F, this VMQ silicone compound performs well in environments exposed to hot air, weathering, ozone, water, glycols, alcohols, dilute acids, and bases. These properties make the material well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in medical devices, food processing equipment, and laboratory systems where temperature stability and material purity are important. Like many silicone elastomers, SM355-75 is not recommended for applications involving petroleum based oils, hydrocarbon fuels, chlorinated solvents, or highly dynamic sealing environments.
