Parker V0848-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound formulated with PTFE loading to reduce friction and improve wear resistance in demanding sealing applications. This material is well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in dynamic systems where reduced surface friction and improved durability are critical, such as hydraulic equipment and moving assemblies. It provides excellent resistance to petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, along with compatibility with aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, while maintaining performance in high vacuum environments. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -15°F to 400°F, V0848-75 also offers strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, and can be compared to other PTFE-filled FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. PTFE-loaded FKM compounds incorporate solid lubricants to lower friction, improve wear characteristics, and enhance performance in dynamic sealing applications. These materials are commonly used in industrial, automotive, and aerospace systems where both chemical resistance and reduced friction are required. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing performance.
