Parker’s V0986-50 is a 50 Shore A black fluorocarbon (FKM) compound designed for sealing applications that require excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and aggressive chemical environments. With a service temperature range of -150°F to 400°F, it performs reliably in contact with petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, silicone fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and ozone-exposed conditions. The compound’s inherent stability and controlled compression set support dependable performance in both static and dynamic seals, including high-vacuum and elevated-temperature applications. Its resistance to weathering and oxidation contributes to extended service life in demanding industrial environments.

 

V0986-50 is not recommended for exposure to hot water, steam, brake fluids, amines, ketones, or low molecular weight esters and ethers. This formulation provides a balanced combination of flexibility, chemical durability, and thermal resistance for general-purpose O-rings and gaskets used in oilfield, automotive, and chemical processing systems.
