Parker V1260-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound classified as a highly chemically resistant “Viton Extreme” type, designed for aggressive chemical environments where standard FKM materials may not be sufficient. This compound offers exceptional resistance to a wide range of media including petroleum-based oils, silicone fluids, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in chemical processing, fuel handling, and high vacuum systems. It also provides excellent resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, ensuring long-term sealing reliability in harsh operating conditions. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -150°F to 400°F, V1260-75 can be compared to other high purity or extreme chemical-resistant FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent materials.
FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where chemical resistance and elevated temperature performance are critical. “Extreme” or specialty FKM grades are engineered to extend chemical compatibility beyond standard FKM types, particularly in applications involving aggressive solvents, acids, and complex chemical mixtures. These materials are commonly used in chemical processing, semiconductor, oil and gas, and aerospace industries, where seal failure is not an option. While highly resistant to many chemicals, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection essential for optimal sealing performance.
