Parker V1289-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound engineered for exceptional low temperature sealing performance while maintaining the chemical resistance expected of fluorocarbon elastomers. This AMS 7379 material is designed for O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace and high performance systems, offering dynamic sealing down to -40°F and static sealing down to -55°F, significantly extending the usable range of standard FKM. It provides lower volume swell in fuels compared to nitrile and fluorosilicone, along with improved wear resistance and compression set characteristics, making it ideal for hydraulic fluids, jet fuel, turbine oils, and environmental sealing. V1289-75 can be compared to other low temperature FKM materials when evaluating equivalent compounds for demanding aerospace and fuel system applications.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Low temperature FKM compounds are specifically formulated to extend sealing capability beyond standard and GLT grades, addressing one of the traditional limitations of fluorocarbon materials. These advanced formulations are commonly used in aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial systems where both chemical exposure and cold temperature performance are required. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical for long-term reliability.
