Parker VG286-80 is an 80 shore A black FKM compound engineered to deliver true low temperature sealing performance while maintaining strong fuel and chemical compatibility. This GLT-type fluorocarbon is designed to seal effectively down to approximately -44°C while still performing at temperatures up to 205°C, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in automotive, oil and gas, and aerospace applications. Compared to standard GLT materials like VM835-75, VG286-80 offers significantly improved fuel resistance, including reduced swell in methanol and biodiesel, along with excellent overall chemical compatibility. Its combination of low temperature flexibility and fuel resistance makes it a strong option for demanding sealing environments where both properties are required.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. GLT-type FKM compounds are specifically formulated to improve low temperature flexibility, though this often comes at the expense of fuel compatibility in standard grades.
