Parker VM128-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound classified as a GLT-type fluorocarbon, specifically engineered for improved low temperature performance while maintaining strong chemical resistance. This material meets AMS-R-83485 requirements and is well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace, turbine systems, and industrial applications exposed to fuels, oils, and aggressive hydrocarbons. It provides excellent compatibility with petroleum and synthetic lubricants, aromatic fuels, and chlorinated solvents, along with strong resistance to ozone and weathering. With a service temperature range of -40°F to 400°F, VM128-75 can be compared to other GLT-type FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent low temperature sealing materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and harsh chemicals is essential. GLT-type FKM materials are formulated to extend low temperature flexibility beyond standard grades while maintaining excellent high temperature stability and compression set resistance. These compounds are commonly used in aerospace, oil and gas, and chemical processing industries where thermal cycling and chemical exposure are present. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for brake fluids, strong polar solvents, or certain hydraulic fluids, making proper material selection critical.
