Parker VM835-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound classified as a GLT-type fluorocarbon, engineered for improved low temperature flexibility while maintaining strong chemical and thermal resistance. This material meets AMS-R-83485 and ASTM D2000 M2HK710 requirements, making it well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace, fuel systems, and industrial sealing applications exposed to hydrocarbons and harsh environments. It provides excellent compatibility with mineral oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and both aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, along with strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging. With a typical service temperature range of -40°F to 400°F, VM835-75 can be compared to other GLT-type FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent low temperature fluorocarbon materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, and aggressive chemicals is essential. GLT-type FKM materials are specifically formulated to extend low temperature performance beyond standard grades, allowing them to remain flexible in colder environments while still maintaining high temperature stability and compression set resistance. These materials are commonly used in aerospace, oil and gas, and chemical processing industries where both thermal cycling and chemical exposure are present. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for glycol-based brake fluids, strong bases, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical.
