VT80BK94 is an 80 shore A black FKM Type A compound that is UL 157 listed for use in fuel and gas sealing applications, including gasoline, kerosene, fuel oils, LP gas, and city gas systems. This material provides excellent chemical resistance to hydrocarbons along with strong durability against weathering and aging, making it well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in fuel handling equipment, valves, and gas distribution systems. It maintains reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -26°C to 225°C and meets ASTM D2000 6HK820 requirements. VT80BK94 can be compared to Parker compounds such as VA151-75, VG273-75, VW076-75, and VA075-75 when evaluating equivalent UL-listed FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is critical. Type A FKM materials are general purpose grades that offer a balanced combination of chemical resistance, thermal stability, and cost effectiveness. UL-listed FKM compounds are specifically qualified for fuel and gas sealing applications, ensuring compliance and reliability in regulated environments. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection essential for long-term sealing success.
