VT90BK15 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type B compound engineered for anti explosive decompression performance in high pressure sealing environments. This material passes NORSOK M-710 AED testing, making it well suited for O-rings and gaskets used in oil and gas applications such as valves, downhole tools, and pressure control equipment. Its high durometer improves extrusion resistance while maintaining excellent chemical compatibility with fuels, oils, and aggressive media, along with strong resistance to weathering and aging. With a service temperature range of -24°C to 225°C, VT90BK15 meets ASTM D2000 M2HK910 requirements and can be compared to Parker compounds such as V1238-95, V0709-90, and VA153-90 for equivalent AED-resistant FKM performance.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, chemicals, and fuels is critical. Type B FKM materials provide enhanced resistance to fuels and certain aggressive chemicals, while AED-resistant formulations are specifically developed to withstand rapid gas decompression without cracking or failure. These materials are commonly used in oil and gas, chemical processing, and high pressure industrial systems where reliability is essential. While highly versatile, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection critical for long-term sealing performance.
