VT90BK32 is a 90 shore A black FKM Type GLT compound engineered for high pressure sealing applications requiring anti explosive decompression performance and improved low temperature flexibility. This material passes API 6A, NORSOK M-710, and NACE TM0297 testing, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in oil and gas equipment such as valves, wellheads, downhole tools, and pressure control systems. Its high durometer improves extrusion resistance while maintaining excellent chemical compatibility with fuels, oils, and aggressive process media, delivering reliable sealing across a service temperature range of -40°C to 225°C. VT90BK32 meets ASTM D2000 M3HK914 requirements and can be compared to Parker® VG109-90 when evaluating equivalent AED-resistant GLT FKM materials.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to heat, fuels, oils, and harsh chemicals is essential. GLT-type FKM compounds are specifically formulated to improve low temperature flexibility, while AED-resistant formulations are engineered to withstand rapid gas decompression without cracking or loss of sealing integrity. These materials are commonly used in oil and gas, aerospace, and industrial processing applications where high pressure, thermal cycling, and aggressive chemical exposure are expected. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents beyond their operating limits, making proper material selection essential for long-term sealing reliability.
