Parker VW155-90 is a 90 shore A green FKM compound designed for general purpose sealing in high pressure and chemically demanding environments. This material provides excellent resistance to petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, along with compatibility with aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in industrial equipment, fuel systems, and high vacuum applications. Its high durometer enhances extrusion resistance and structural integrity under load, while also offering strong durability against ozone, weathering, and aging. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -15°F to 400°F, VW155-90 can be compared to other high hardness FKM materials when evaluating equivalent sealing solutions.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Higher durometer FKM materials like 90A are commonly selected for applications requiring improved extrusion resistance and mechanical strength under pressure. These compounds are widely used in automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial systems where durability and chemical compatibility are critical. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing performance.
