E1157-60 Datasheet

Parker’s E1157-60 is a 60 Shore A black EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) compound engineered for sealing applications that require excellent resistance to water, steam, and polar chemical environments. With a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F and steam capability up to 300°F, it maintains flexibility at low temperatures while delivering reliable performance in hot water and cleaning processes. This compound is compatible with glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3 and DOT 4), silicone brake fluids (DOT 5), many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, sodium and potassium alkalis, and a wide range of polar solvents including alcohols, ketones, and esters. Its inherent resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long-term durability in exposed industrial and automotive environments.

 

E1157-60 meets ASTM D2000 M3DA607 requirements and is commonly used in fluid handling, braking systems, and industrial equipment where softer EPDM materials are needed to accommodate movement, vibration, or lower sealing loads. It is not recommended for use with mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials designed to meet similar thermal, chemical, and performance requirements for steam, brake fluid, and chemical sealing applications.
