KA158-70 Datasheet

Parker’s KA158-70 is a 70 Shore A black HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile, HSN) compound engineered for sealing applications that require enhanced low-temperature flexibility, improved heat resistance, and broad chemical compatibility compared to standard NBR materials. Qualified to ASTM D2000 M2DH716, it offers reliable performance across a service temperature range of approximately -40°F to 300°F, with short-term capability up to 325°F, while maintaining good tensile strength, elongation, and low compression set. The hydrogenated nitrile chemistry provides strong resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbons including petroleum oils, mineral oils, diesel fuel, fuel oils, as well as vegetable oils, animal fats, glycols, water, and salt or alkali solutions. Its resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long-term durability in both indoor and outdoor service environments.

 

KA158-70 is commonly used in automotive, industrial, and fluid power systems where exposure to oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and temperature cycling is expected. It is compatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC hydraulic fluids and performs well in glycol- and water-based media at moderate temperatures. This compound is not recommended for chlorinated hydrocarbons, strong acids, polar solvents such as ketones and acetone, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids.
