L1186-80 Datasheet

Parker’s L1186-80 is an 80 Shore A rust-colored fluorosilicone (FVMQ) compound internally lubricated with PTFE and engineered for sealing applications that require reduced friction, excellent wear resistance, and low compression set. Designed to perform across a service temperature range of approximately -90°F to 350°F, it maintains flexibility at low temperatures while offering stability under dry heat conditions. The PTFE-filled formulation improves tear resistance, abrasion resistance, and installation performance, making it well suited for applications where seal wear and stick-slip are concerns. L1186-80 provides strong resistance to aromatic mineral oils, petroleum oils, jet fuels, low molecular weight aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and toluene, and chlorinated solvents.

 

L1186-80 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in aerospace fuel systems, industrial equipment, and applications exposed to fuels and hydrocarbons where low friction and long seal life are critical. It is not recommended for phosphate esters, acids, ketones, amines including ammonia, or automotive and aircraft brake fluids. This fluorosilicone compound is selected when fuel compatibility, abrasion resistance, and compression set performance must be balanced.
