SI80OR51 Datasheet
SI80OR51, Sil, Orange, HT, 80A
SI80OR51 is an 80 shore A orange high temperature silicone compound designed for demanding sealing environments where extreme heat and environmental exposure are present. This material offers excellent resistance to thermal degradation, low compression set, and strong durability against oxygen, ozone, and UV exposure, making it a reliable choice for long-term sealing performance. With a service temperature range of -55°C to 315°C, it is well suited for high temperature O-rings and gaskets used in aerospace, industrial processing, and outdoor applications. The compound meets ASTM D2000 M5GE806 requirements, allowing it to be compared to similar high performance silicone materials from manufacturers such as Parker for equivalent applications.
Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its exceptional temperature range, flexibility, and environmental resistance. It performs well in both high and low temperature conditions, maintaining elasticity where many other elastomers become brittle or degrade. Silicone materials are frequently used in applications involving air, ozone, weathering, and thermal cycling, though they are generally not recommended for petroleum-based fluids. This makes silicone an ideal choice for static seals, medical components, and high temperature sealing environments where reliability and longevity are critical.
