Parker’s E0893-80 Purple Chromassure is an 80 Shore A EPDM compound formulated to meet ASTM D2000 2AA815 requirements for demanding water-based and polar-fluid sealing applications. Designed for Chromassure identification, this material provides reliable performance across a service temperature range of -70°F to 250°F while maintaining elasticity and sealing integrity. It offers excellent resistance to hot water and steam, glycol-based brake fluids, phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils and greases, many organic and inorganic acids, cleaning agents, and sodium and potassium alkalis. Its inherent resistance to ozone, aging, and weathering supports long service life in exposed industrial and automotive environments.

 

E0893-80 is commonly used in fluid handling systems, braking components, and industrial equipment where resistance to polar media and environmental exposure is critical. It is not recommended for mineral oil products such as oils, greases, or fuels. This EPDM formulation combines high durometer strength with dependable chemical compatibility for consistent sealing performance.
