E0962-90 Datasheet
Parker, E0962-90 EPDM, 90A, Black, Excellent Steam to 500 F, Explosive Decompression Resistant, RGD
Parker’s E0962-90 is a 90 Shore A black EPDM compound specifically engineered for extreme steam, geothermal, and high-temperature sealing environments. Developed for conditions that exceed the limits of standard EPDM materials, it delivers outstanding performance in continuous steam service up to 260°C (500°F) with short-duration exposure up to 315°C (600°F). This compound offers strong resistance to extrusion, pressure, and explosive decompression, making it well suited for hostile oilfield and geothermal applications. It also demonstrates compatibility with water-based drilling fluids, amines, alcohols, ketones, phosphate esters, hydrogen sulfide, ozone, cleaning agents, alkalines, and petroleum fluid mixtures below 10 percent.
E0962-90 is recommended for use in pumps, valves, crude delivery systems, and geothermal equipment where steam, pressure, and chemical exposure are severe. It is not recommended for mineral oils, greases, fuels, or high-percentage petroleum fluids. This high-durometer EPDM formulation provides reliable sealing performance in environments where conventional elastomers fail due to heat, pressure, or steam exposure. Canyon Components offers equivalent EPDM materials that match or exceed the performance of Parker E0962-90 for geothermal, steam, and high-temperature sealing applications.
