Parker, N0300-90 NBR, 90A, Black, Back Up Rings
Parker’s N0300-90 is a 90 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound engineered for high-hardness sealing applications such as back-up rings where extrusion resistance and dimensional stability are critical. Designed to meet ASTM D2000 7BG915 requirements, this material performs reliably across a service temperature range of -40°F to 180°F while maintaining strong resistance to petroleum-based oils. It is also compatible with water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, supporting use in hydraulic and industrial fluid systems. The high durometer formulation helps prevent seal extrusion in high-pressure environments when used in conjunction with O-rings.
N0300-90 is commonly used for back-up rings and support components in hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pressure-containing assemblies where standard elastomers may deform under load. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This compound provides a dependable balance of hardness, oil resistance, and specification compliance for pressure-intensive sealing designs. Canyon Components offers equivalent high-durometer NBR materials designed to match the performance characteristics of Parker N0300-90 for back-up ring and extrusion-resistant sealing applications.
