N0497-70 Datasheet

Parker’s N0497-70 is a 70 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound engineered for low swell performance in oil and fluid handling applications. Qualified to SAE J120 R1 Class II and UL listed, it operates reliably across a service temperature range of -35°F to 212°F while maintaining dimensional stability in petroleum-based oils. The formulation provides compatibility with water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, supporting consistent sealing performance where volume swell control is critical. Its balanced hardness and compression behavior make it suitable for static and light dynamic sealing in industrial and hydraulic systems.

 

N0497-70 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in hose assemblies, fluid transfer equipment, and general industrial machinery where low swell and specification compliance are required. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents.
