N0545-40 Datasheet
Parker, N0545-40 NBR, 40A, Black, AMS 3201
Parker’s N0545-40 is a 40 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound designed for low-hardness sealing applications that require excellent flexibility and oil resistance. Qualified to ASTM D2000 M2BG410 and AMS 3201, it operates reliably across a service temperature range of -45°F to 225°F while maintaining good compression set behavior and elastic recovery. This compound is compatible with petroleum-based oils, water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and aerospace-adjacent fluid handling systems. Its softer durometer allows improved conformability and sealing performance in low clamp load or irregular gland conditions.
N0545-40 is commonly used for O-rings and gaskets in hydraulic equipment, pumps, valves, and general machinery where flexibility and oil compatibility are prioritized over high pressure extrusion resistance. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This material provides a dependable, specification-backed nitrile solution for low-durometer sealing requirements. Canyon Components offers equivalent NBR materials designed to match the temperature capability, hardness, and AMS 3201 compliance of Parker N0545-40.
