N0552-90 Datasheet

Parker’s N0552-90 is a 90 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound designed as a general-purpose, high-durometer sealing material for applications requiring improved extrusion resistance and dimensional stability. Qualified to ASTM D2000 3CH915, it operates reliably across a service temperature range of -30°F to 250°F while maintaining strong resistance to petroleum-based oils. The compound is also compatible with water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and hydraulic sealing environments. Its high hardness supports dependable performance in static and moderate dynamic applications where lower-durometer nitrile materials may deform under pressure.

 

N0552-90 is commonly used for O-rings, gaskets, and sealing components in pumps, valves, hydraulic equipment, and general machinery where oil resistance and mechanical robustness are required. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This compound offers a practical balance of hardness, oil compatibility, and specification compliance for everyday sealing needs.
