Parker, N0602-70 NBR, 70A, Black, General Purpose, AMS-P-5315, Low Temp
Parker’s N0602-70 is a 70 Shore A black nitrile rubber (NBR) compound engineered as a general-purpose sealing material with enhanced low-temperature flexibility. Qualified to AMS-P-5315, it delivers reliable sealing performance across a service temperature range of -70°F to 180°F, making it well suited for cold-start and low-temperature environments where standard nitrile compounds may stiffen. The formulation provides good resistance to petroleum-based oils, water up to 212°F, salt and alkali solutions, and weak acids, supporting dependable use in hydraulic and industrial fluid-handling systems. Its balanced hardness and compression behavior allow consistent sealing in static and light dynamic O-ring and gasket applications.
N0602-70 is commonly used in O-rings and gaskets for industrial equipment, pumps, valves, and systems exposed to cold conditions and petroleum fluids. It is not recommended for aromatic fuels, strong acids, glycols, ozone exposure, or polar solvents. This compound is selected when low-temperature elasticity and cost-effective oil resistance are primary design requirements. Canyon Components offers equivalent NBR materials designed to match the low-temperature performance and AMS-P-5315 compliance of Parker N0602-70.
