SI70OR02 Datasheet

SI70OR02 is a 70 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound that is peroxide cured and FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2600, making it ideal for food processing and general industrial sealing applications. This material provides reliable performance in O-rings and gaskets exposed to ozone, detergents, salt water, and vegetable and animal oils, while maintaining flexibility across a wide temperature range of -60°C to 205°C. Its formulation supports consistent sealing performance in sanitary environments where compliance and durability are essential. SI70OR02 meets ASTM D2000 M7GE705 requirements and can be compared to Parker S1138-70 when evaluating equivalent FDA compliant silicone materials.

 

Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its excellent temperature range and resistance to environmental degradation. These materials maintain elasticity in both extreme cold and heat, making them suitable for applications involving thermal cycling and outdoor exposure. FDA compliant silicone compounds are commonly used in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries where non-toxic, stable materials are required. While highly versatile, silicone is generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important for long-term performance.
