SI70OR50 Datasheet
SI70OR50, SIL, ORANGE, HT, 70A
SI70OR50 is a 70 shore A orange silicone (VMQ) compound engineered for high temperature sealing where long-term thermal stability and compression set resistance are critical. This material provides excellent resistance to thermal degradation, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets used in industrial, aerospace, and high heat environments. It maintains flexibility at low temperatures while delivering stable performance up to 260°C, along with strong resistance to oxygen, ozone, UV exposure, and fungal growth. SI70OR50 meets ASTM D2000 M5GE706 requirements and can be compared to Parker S0604-70 and S1224-70 when evaluating equivalent high temperature silicone materials.
Silicone rubber, commonly referred to as VMQ, is widely used in O-rings and gaskets due to its exceptional temperature range and resistance to environmental degradation. High temperature silicone grades are specifically formulated to withstand prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures while maintaining elasticity and sealing performance. These materials are commonly used in aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications where thermal stability, ozone resistance, and long service life are essential. While highly versatile, silicone compounds are generally not recommended for use with petroleum fuels or certain aggressive chemicals, making proper material selection important.
