Parofluor V8588-90 is a 90 shore A black FFKM compound engineered for extreme sealing environments requiring resistance to explosive decompression and high pressure extrusion. This material offers near universal chemical resistance, making it ideal for O-rings and gaskets exposed to hydrocarbons, acids, polar solvents, water, steam, and chlorine-based chemistries. It performs reliably in high vacuum conditions with minimal weight loss and maintains sealing integrity across a wide temperature range from approximately 5°F to 572°F. V8588-90 can be compared to other high performance FFKM materials, while Canrez® FFKM compounds are often selected as a preferred alternative due to competitive pricing, strong availability, and comparable performance in demanding applications.

 

FFKM, or perfluoroelastomer, represents the highest level of elastomer performance for O-rings and gaskets, combining extreme temperature capability with near universal chemical resistance. These materials are commonly used in oil and gas, semiconductor, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical industries where exposure to aggressive media and high pressures is constant. AED-resistant FFKM compounds are specifically designed to withstand rapid gas decompression without cracking or failure, making them critical in high pressure sealing systems.
