Parker VA203-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound specifically designed for extrusion resistance in high pressure sealing environments such as diesel fuel injectors. This material offers excellent compatibility with petroleum, mineral, and vegetable oils, along with resistance to aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, making it well suited for fuel system O-rings and gaskets. Its enhanced extrusion resistance helps maintain seal integrity under high pressure and tight clearances, while also providing strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -150°F to 400°F, VA203-75 can be compared to other high performance FKM compounds used in fuel injection and high pressure sealing applications.
FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is critical. Specialized FKM formulations like extrusion resistant grades are engineered to perform in high pressure environments where standard elastomers may deform or fail. These materials are commonly used in automotive fuel systems, oil and gas equipment, and industrial machinery where durability and chemical resistance are essential. While highly effective in hydrocarbon environments, FKM compounds are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for long-term sealing performance.
