VB153-75 Datasheet

Parker VB153-75 is a 75 shore A black FKM compound formulated for fuel system sealing applications where good compression set resistance and long-term durability are required. This material performs well in O-rings and gaskets exposed to fuels, petroleum-based oils, and a wide range of hydrocarbons, including aromatic and chlorinated media. It also offers strong resistance to ozone, weathering, and aging, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor industrial environments as well as high vacuum systems. With a typical service temperature range of approximately -150°F to 400°F, VB153-75 can be compared to other fuel-resistant FKM compounds when evaluating equivalent materials for demanding sealing applications.

 

FKM, commonly referred to as Viton®, is a high performance fluoroelastomer widely used in O-rings and gaskets where resistance to fuels, oils, and elevated temperatures is essential. Compounds designed for improved compression set resistance help maintain sealing force over time, especially in applications involving thermal cycling or long service intervals. These materials are commonly used in automotive fuel systems, aerospace components, and industrial fluid handling equipment where reliability is critical. While highly versatile, FKM materials are generally not recommended for hot water, steam, or certain polar solvents, making proper material selection important for optimal performance.
