VP101-80 Datasheet
Parker, VP101-80 Aflas, 80A, Black, General Purpose
Parker VP101-80 is an 80 shore A black AFLAS compound designed as a general purpose sealing material for harsh chemical and high temperature environments. This material performs well in O-rings and gaskets exposed to bases, sour oil and gas, steam, phosphate esters, amines, acids, and petroleum oils, making it a strong choice for oil and gas and chemical processing applications. It offers good compression set resistance for this class of elastomer, helping maintain sealing force over extended service periods. With a service temperature range of approximately 25°F to 450°F, VP101-80 provides reliable performance in aggressive and high temperature sealing environments.
AFLAS, a tetrafluoroethylene propylene rubber, is a specialty elastomer known for its outstanding resistance to bases, amines, steam, and sour gas environments where traditional FKM materials may not perform as effectively. These materials are widely used in O-rings and gaskets for oil and gas, chemical processing, and industrial applications requiring durability under harsh chemical exposure and elevated temperatures. AFLAS compounds also provide strong resistance to ozone and aging, along with good long-term sealing performance. While highly resistant to many aggressive chemicals, they are generally not recommended for aromatic fuels, ketones, or certain organic solvents, making proper material selection essential.
