VP102-80 Datasheet

Parker, VP102-80 Aflas, 80A, Black, Low Compression Set

Parker VP102-80 is an 80 shore A black AFLAS compound designed for sealing applications requiring low compression set and strong chemical resistance in aggressive environments. This material performs well in O-rings and gaskets exposed to bases, sour oil and gas, steam, phosphate esters, amines, and acids, making it ideal for oil and gas, chemical processing, and industrial systems. Its improved compression set characteristics help maintain sealing force over extended service periods, even under elevated temperatures up to approximately 450°F. VP102-80 can be compared to other AFLAS compounds when evaluating equivalent materials for demanding chemical and high temperature sealing applications.

AFLAS, a tetrafluoroethylene propylene rubber, is a specialty elastomer known for its outstanding resistance to bases, amines, steam, and sour gas environments where traditional FKM materials may struggle. These materials are widely used in O-rings and gaskets for oil and gas, chemical processing, and industrial applications requiring resistance to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures. AFLAS offers a unique balance of chemical compatibility and thermal stability, particularly in alkaline and steam-rich environments. While highly resistant to many harsh chemicals, it is generally not recommended for aromatic fuels, ketones, or certain organic solvents, making proper material selection essential.
